Plumsted Government Survey

Most Important Issue to you

What is the most important issue to You in Plumsted?

Property Taxes
Redevelopment
Traffic
Roads
Schools
Snow Removal
Fire Dept
First Aid
Other

If you answered "other" above please tell us the issue of concern.

The current "Redevelopment Plan" calls out for adding between 500-1,000 homes to our town in order to get sewers for the downtown.

What do you think of the current "Redevelopment Plan"

I think the plan is GREAT for our town
I think the plan is just OK for our town
I have no opinion either for of against the plan
I think the plan will destroy the character of the town and want it stopped now
I think the plan sells out the town to the big developer and want it stopped now

Do you think we should

Keep the current redevelopment plan
Scrap the current plan and get our sewers via grants just like other towns have

The current administration always presents a positive image of what they want to do with our town. They never present the pros and cons to an issue and ask the people what they want.

How do you feel about this?

I always just want to hear good things about my town, I will just let the government handle it for me
I would really like to hear about all sides of an issue and be able to give input to my governing body

Do you believe (check all that apply)

That Plumsted has the lowest crime rate in Ocean County
That Plumsted crime went up 40% last year
That Plumsted has preserved more farmland than any other town in Ocean County
That Plumsted lost more farmland acres from 1990-2002 than any other town is Ocean County

On the issue of Property Taxes, Currently our town has less than 5% rateables where other towns in Ocean County have about 40% rateables to offset their taxes

Do you feel that Plumsted should

Attract more clean businesses to the community and lower the property taxes
Keep the town this way. I am willing to pay higher property taxes to keep rateables out
