Release after: October 18, 2003
Candidates for Plumsted Township Committee, Mitch Geier and Don Knause, announced their plan to reduce property taxes once elected. Geier and Knause are running on the campaign slogan of A Change for the Better and have entered the race with the primary goal of decreasing this community’s skyrocketing property taxes.
Mitch Geier points out, “Property taxes in Plumsted Township have risen 14% in just this year and 93% in the last 10 years! We just can’t afford to let our administration treat homeowners like their ATM. We developed our 5-Point Property Reduction Plan in response to these outrageous increases in taxation.”
Don Knause notes, “We believe we can make a real difference. We need property tax reduction and reform as well as many services that would benefit this community. We could use a youth recreation center, day care in the areas of town with recent growth, a gym, and medical facilities. By actively attracting these types of clean ratable businesses, it becomes a win/win situation of defraying taxes and increasing our quality-of-life.”
U.S. Senator Jon Corzine and U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg recently endorsed the Geier and Knause campaign.
