Welcome!
Right Now Homeless animals need your help... Site Update
I am updating this site to reflect my moving away from politics and into areas where I can make a difference... Since this is a personal site it will always reflect my personal commitment to saving lives. The lives of those who cannot speak for themselves. The lives of those who give unconditional love. That is the animals many consider members of their families. Yes the pets in our lives.
Many people have had to give up their pets due to these economic times. Many have had to move due to loosing their homes and cannot take their pet with them. Some just cannot afford the food or care for their pets. Some have brought them to the shelter. Others have just let them go into the towns to fend for them selves. They get caught and brought to the shelter. There are thousands of stories and just as many animals needing homes and care. It pains me to inform you the the shelters are at capacity and many animals are killed due to lack of space at the shelters. We need to find homes for these animals to stop the killing.
Yes I have heard from many how they had difficulty adopting from the shelter. You must keep in mind the people running the shelter are government employees following government rules. The rules are there to protect everyone. So yes it might take a little work on your part to save a life but it is worth it. Our society sees animals as property and not as sentient* beings... That needs to change.
I have spent many years trying to change the political system and hold it accountable to "We the people"... it is so far out of control I do not know how we will ever bring it back to what I believe the founders envisioned. So what I can and have been doing for many years now is taking one of my loves photography to go to the shelter each week and make sure you know a few of the animals that are up for adoption. We (my wife Betsy and I) have a web site CritterCorner.org where we publish the information and I have arranged with many newspapers in the area to carry our column. Now it is up to you to save some of these lives. If we all do a little it can make a big difference. So please do not go and purchase animals in pet stores (we do not need more breeding) go to the shelters and adopt an animal that needs a second chance. Most of the animals I meet in the shelter are wonderful loving beings that have much to offer. So much so that we have adopted eight animals. I wish I could take more but that is all I can care for. Now it is up to you!
My other interest is Magic and comedy which I excel at... ok comedy not so much. I am setting up a not for profit corporation called Good Humor Entertainment right now I am working with The Strand Theater in Lakewood NJ so that raw talent can have a venue to learn how to work a large stage and an equally large audience. Each show we produce will have a minimum of one highly talented beginning act and two high quality headliner acts. This will give the audience a wonderful show. I hope to see you at the Strand check out www.GotGoodHumor.com for more info and upcoming shows. By the way if you are a not for profit charity these shows can offer you a great fund raising opportunity. Please contact me for more info.
I also Photograph events and many have asked how to get my photos... Please click the event photo link on the left for that information.

Respect dissent. * Sentience is the ability to
feel,
perceive
or be
conscious, or to have subjective experiences. Eighteenth century
philosophers used the concept to distinguish the ability to think ("reason")
from the ability to feel ("sentience"). In modern western philosophy, sentience
is the ability to have
sensations or experiences (described by some thinkers as "qualia").
For Eastern philosophy, sentience is a metaphysical quality of all things that
requires respect and care. The concept is central to the philosophy of
animal rights, because sentience is necessary for the ability to
suffer,
which entails certain rights. In
science fiction, non-human characters described as "sentient" typically have
similar abilities, qualities and rights as human beings. |
